Defeat snatched from the jaws of victory!  With four new Dogs making their debut this week and Dharmesh taking on the role as captain for the first time there was a air of mystery surrounding the D3 team this week.  Winning the toss and deciding the field first everyone was given an early chance to prove themselves.

And prove themselves they did.  This Dulwich team had a 100% record going into this match and yet they were restricted to 124 from their 25 overs.  Star with the ball was newcomer Andy McNeice with 3 wickets, the first an absolute peach of delivery that beat the batsman and clipped off stump at tremendous speed.  Other debutants Jabi and Simon also contributed to the wickets.  In the field everybody excelled with some quick thinking, accurate throwing and great backing up.  Ben Barber, who played despite a near life threatening hamstring injury, was a constant menace to the batsmen silly mid-on - always in their line of sight.  Andy Steele, Jabi and Stu all took good catches, the latter also taking a ball square in the gut for the Republic.

However the less said about the batting the better.  With the exception of a stoic 9th wicket partnership between Wasay and Bryan there really isn't much to report.  Let's just say there was room for improvement!

Still - a good day out and plenty of positives to take to the next match.
